This article will help you troubleshoot on the occasion that a fingerprint fails to register in your Yale Access app.

  

  

### Did you start the fingerprint registration process at the lock within 30 seconds?

After selecting the Continue in the Yale Access app, you have 30 seconds to start the registration process.

  

  

### Is your finger clean?

Ensure your finger is clear of any dirt, residue, or wetness.

  

  

### Does your finger have good contact?

Make sure your finger has constant, good contact with the fingerprint sensor. When registering your fingerprint, make sure you are pressing the sensor in the same orientation for each press. Unlike many fingerprint scanners used on phones or other devices, this scanner works best when you scan your fingerprint in the same position. If you are rolling your finger around to get the sides, it might have a harder time registering.
