## How is the Assure Lock 2 with Wi-Fi different from previous versions?

The Assure Lock 2 with Wi-Fi uses a Wi-Fi Smart Module. Unlike the Yale Assure Lock, this version supports remote operations without the need of the Yale Connect Bridge. Like previous versions, the Yale Assure Lock 2 with also supports local operations using Bluetooth.

## Where is the QR Code for my Yale Assure Lock 2?

The QR Code is located on the inside of the lock.

## What is the expected battery life of the Assure Lock 2?

Battery life varies based on how often the lock is operated, the friction in your deadbolt, Wi-Fi signal strength, and the settings on your Wi-Fi router. Under typical conditions with Wi-Fi enabled, the Yale Assure Lock 2 will have a battery life of up to 3 months.

## How will I know when the batteries need to be replaced?

You will first receive a notification in the app letting you know that your batteries need replacing.Then you will receive an email notification. The gear icon on the keypad of your lock will also light up amber and then red when your battery needs to change. Timely battery changes are essential to the performance of your lock.

## What Wi-Fi frequencies and standards does the Assure Lock 2 support?

The lock supports 802.11 b/g/n on the 2.4GHz frequency.

5GHz is great when you need a high bandwidth solution and you are very close to the wireless access point. The Assure Lock 2 is not bandwidth intensive, so we optimized for house compatibility. 2.4 GHz provides better coverage for everyone since not everyone’s router is right next to their front door.

## How does the lock work if my Wi-Fi stops working?

Your Yale Assure Lock 2 connects seamlessly to the Yale Access App via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, depending on which connection is available. If your Wi-Fi is down in your home, you will still be able to connect to your lock over Bluetooth. This may take up to a few seconds depending on the model of your phone since different devices have different Bluetooth implementations.

## Do I need a Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge?

Because it has a Wi-Fi Smart Module, the Assure Lock 2 does not require a Wi-Fi bridge. However, the lock is still compatible with the Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge, which can be paired with the lock to increase battery life.

## How do I use my Yale Assure Lock 2 with the Yale Connect Bridge?

You may choose to use the Yale Connect Bridge to enable Wi-Fi for your lock. The best way to do that is to disconnect the Assure Lock 2 from the Wi-Fi Smart Module is from within the Lock Settings menu, by selecting the Disconnect Wi-Fi option. Then go to Set up devices and select the Yale Connect Bridge.

## How does the Assure Lock 2 communicate with HomeKit?

The Assure Lock 2 communicates with HomeKit over Bluetooth. Controlling this HomeKit-enabled accessory automatically and away from home requires a HomePod®, HomePod mini®, or Apple TV® set up as a home hub.
