# Setting up HomeKit on Your Yale Assure Lock or Lever

This article will cover instructions to set up HomeKit on your Yale Assure Lock or Lever. Instructions are covered for the following locks:

  

1.  Assure Lock 2 Touch, Assure Lock 2 Plus, Assure Lock 2, Assure Lock, and Assure Levers with Wi-Fi
2.  Assure Lock with iM1 modules purchased in Apple stores or on [Apple.com](//Apple.com)
3.  Assure Lock 2, Assure Lock, and Assure Levers with Bluetooth only

  

  

## 1\. Assure Lock 2 Touch, Assure Lock 2 Plus, Assure Lock 2, Assure Lock, and Assure Levers with Wi-Fi

  

Follow the below instructions if you have any of these locks:

  

*   Assure Lock 2 Touch (YRD420-F/450-F)
*   Assure Lock 2 Plus (YRD450-N)
*   Assure Lock 2 with Wi-Fi (YRD410/420/430/450)
*   Assure Lock with Wi-Fi (YRD216/226/256)
*   Assure Levers with Wi-Fi (YRL216/226/236/256)

1.  Open the Yale Access app and tap the **gear icon (⚙)** to get to the **Lock Settings** page.
2.  Select **HomeKit**.
3.  Select **Enable HomeKit**.
4.  Select **Continue**.
5.  Find the HomeKit code for your lock or lever:
    *   **Assure Lock 2 models (including Assure Lock 2 Touch and Assure Lock 2 Plus):** on the lock's battery compartment
    *   **Assure Lock and Lever models:** on the Yale Access module
6.  Manually enter the 8-digit accessory code.
7.  Tap **Done** or add the suggested scenes and tap **Done**.
8.  Tap **F****inish** to complete the setup.

## 2\. Assure Lock with an iM1 Module

  

Follow the instructions below if you purchased an Assure Lock with an iM1 module (YRD256-iM1) at an Apple store or on Apple.com.

  

**Choose or Add Home**

1.  Install the [Yale Secure app](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/yale-secure/id1261911820) from the App Store on your device.
2.  Open the app, and tap **OK** to allow the Yale Secure app to access Home data.
3.  Select an existing Home or tap Add Home to add a new home to use with HomeKit.

  

**Install your iM1 Module**

1.  Remove the battery cover on your Assure Lock. 
2.  Remove 1 battery.
3.  Wait 10 seconds.
4.  Insert the iM1 module into the slot above the lock batteries.

5.  Insert the battery you removed earlier.
6.  Replace the battery cover on your Assure Lock.
7.  Enter your Master Pincode, then press the gear button (⚙).
8.  Press the following buttons in this order: **7** > ⚙ > **1** > ⚙.

  

**Add your Yale Assure Lock** **or Lever**

1.  In the Yale Secure app, tap the **+** icon to add a lock.
2.  The app will then search for available locks.
3.  Tap the lock you want to add.
