## How do I set entry codes with the Z-Wave module?

You can manage your entry codes in the Z-Wave app if your Z-Wave hub supports entry code management. Otherwise, you can [manage and set entry codes in the Yale Access app](https://support.shopyalehome.com/how-to-create-the-master-entry-code-SkUmZlW1D). 

## Where is the QR Code for my Yale Assure Lock 2?

The QR Code is located on the inside of the lock, above the battery compartment. Slide the lock cover up to find the QR code.

## What is the expected battery life of the Assure Lock 2 with Z-Wave?

Battery life varies based on how often the lock is operated and the friction in your deadbolt. 

Yale Assure Lock 2 will have a battery life of up to 9-12 months under typical conditions with Z-Wave enabled.

## How will I know when the batteries need to be replaced?

You can check your Z-Wave app for your lock battery status, or check your physical lock.

The gear icon on the keypad of your lock will light up amber to alert low battery, and then red to signal that batteries need to be replaced as soon as possible.

  

Timely battery changes are essential to the performance of your lock.

## How will my lock work if Z-Wave stops working?

If your Z-Wave is down in your home, you will still be able to connect to your lock over Bluetooth using the Yale Access app. 

  

This may take up to a few seconds depending on the model of your phone since different devices have different Bluetooth implementations. The keypad will always work.

## What else do I need to use the Assure Lock 2 with Z-Wave?

You will need:

*   A compatible Z-Wave Smart Home hub to control your lock with your phone
*   A compatible third party app downloaded for your hub of choice (SmartThings, Ring, Hubitat, etc.) to control and manage your lock

## What systems is the Assure Lock 2 with Z-Wave compatible with?

The Yale Assure Lock 2 with Z-Wave is compatible with Samsung SmartThings, Hubitat, and Ring.
